The felting needle is a special needle for decorative felting work without sewing thread.

The main feature of felting needles is the triangular working part with barbs. When the needle penetrates the material, the barbs transport the material fibers, artistically binding wool felt, wool threads, or other suitable materials to the base material.

The felting needle has a round shaft with a diameter of 1.2 mm, while standard household sewing machine needles have a shaft diameter of 2.04 mm. Since the felting needle does not have an eye, it is not suitable for regular sewing with thread. Wool or felt-like fabrics are best suited as base materials for felting. Experiment with different materials to create decorative effects and exciting looks.
