SCHMETZ DPx17 S and also known as 135X17 S, SY 3355 S, 135X16 TW, DPX16 are industrial sewing machine needles for leather with an S (Narrow Cross Point) point. This needle point creates a very straight, clean stitch because the cut into the material is made perpendicular to the direction of the thread. Ideally suited for precise seams on leather without tearing the material. Chrome coating provides reduced friction and higher durability for heavy-duty use.
Choose the needle size and thread thickness according to the material's thickness.
Fits industrial lockstitch machines that use 135X17, SY 3355, DPX17, 135X16 TW, DPX16 N series needles.

The visual appearance of seams in the images refers to machines with side thread take-up. On machines with front take-up the seam effect may differ slightly. If a slanted stitch is required, choose an LR or LL point.
