SCHMETZ DBx1 LL, also known as 1738 (A) LL, is an industrial sewing machine needle for leather with a LL (Twist) point shape. The lens-shaped cross-section and the ~135° notch relative to the thread direction create without tearing the leather. Chrome coating reduces wear and overheating, ensuring long life during intensive use.

🧶 Thread recommendations (for leather)

Choose thread thickness based on seam type and leather thickness; for thicker leather – use a larger needle and thicker thread.

• General seams: polyester ~tex 50–75 (No. 40–30) with needle NM 110–140
• Extra durable seams in high-wear areas of shoes (e.g., heel area) polyester ~tex 60–75 with needle NM 110–160

ℹ️ Useful note

If you need to achieve an identical seam appearance on machines with the hook positioned to the left of the needle, use the related point LLCR. On standard machines LL provides a very straight seam.
