Cotton loop knit fabric (French Terry) is a soft, comfortable, and slightly stretchy fabric with elastane in its composition.
On one side, the fabric is smooth, while the other side has a small looped texture that provides extra comfort and warmth.
This fabric is ideal for sportswear, casual clothing, hats, sweaters, pants, and children's clothes.
Loop knit fabric is breathable and allows natural air circulation, making it a great choice for both cooler and warmer days. It is a practical and durable fabric with enough stretch for comfortable everyday wear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton knit fabric, it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles. For very stretchy knits, it is advisable to use Super Stretch needles, which are specially designed for elastic fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to glide easily between knit fibers without damaging the fabric. Needle size is usually 70/10 or 80/12.
