Satin is a fabric woven in a satin weave with a shiny, smooth front surface and a matte back side. The best qualities of this fabric are its pleasantly soft texture, easy drape, and easy care.
The light sheen makes the fabric more elegant and beautiful, so this fabric is most often used for sewing sophisticated clothing, making it an excellent fabric for sewing dresses, skirts, and corsets.
This fabric is perfect for tunics, blouses, beautiful shirts, vests, even light garments and nightwear. Satin is also used to sew various interior decorations, such as curtains, chair covers, as well as tablecloths.
Does not contain elastane and therefore does not stretch.
