Iedvesmas stāsts: Kā Undīne no nulles izveidoja savu sirsnīgo zīmolu "Poga podziņa" - Šarlotes audumi

Inspiration story: How Undīne built her heartfelt brand "Poga podziņa" from scratch

Sewing is not just a job or a hobby – it is a passion that can change lives. I believe that every seamstress deserves to be inspired, heard, and appreciated. That is why this time we are sharing a particularly heartfelt and genuine story – Undīne's experience, which quietly transformed from the first fears of sewing minky fabric to her own business. Button knob

How did your story with sewing begin? Do you remember your first creation?

I started sewing about 4 years ago. If someone had told me earlier that I would ever be a seamstress in my life, I wouldn't have believed it was even me.. I had never sewn before except a few times during school.
I remember my first order of a minky and cotton blanket from your fabric selection with those little bunnies and powder pink minky.. the blanket turned out very beautiful and of course, I sent it off with great excitement. The client was truly happy upon receiving it, and of course, that made me happy as well.
I remember my first order on the website exactly the same way, it was at the very beginning of the year and 13€ came in, I was so happy as if it were millions I received..

What encouraged you to start your small business – Poga podziņa?

I started sewing on my own with pillowcases. Slowly, customers began asking for minky blankets as well, and that was my very beginning. When others said that minky is a terrible fabric and difficult to sew, I started with the harder part...
Instagram and Facebook accounts initially had a different name, later I settled on pogapodzinalv because I have had that email for years and thought why not, I got used to it myself and got the clients used to the new name.

What brings you the greatest joy when working with fabrics and creating new things?

In my opinion, sewing itself brings me joy; it is a kind of meditation. From time to time, I offer clients something new, add something to the range, or remove something...
And of course, feedback from customers is more valuable than any received order.

The very thought that someone will become even a little happier with a product I created brings joy. Especially pictures of little customers, they warm the heart, it is like a hug for both the soul and the body.

How do you manage to balance mom life with Pogapodzina.lv? What helps you every day?

Since my twins are already 12 years old and my little son is 9 years old, they are quite independent. They gladly get involved and help with daily chores, and they also enjoy participating in the sewing process and learning. I also allow the children to work and engage their interest in this profession.
Of course, in everyday life my husband also helps me. But sewing and everything related to it is mine, starting from packaging, website, order acceptance, cutting, ironing, sewing, and all other small tasks—that is my field..

What would be your wish or advice to another woman who dreams of starting to sew and doing it with heart?

For anyone who wants to start sewing, I would recommend not being afraid... to ask for advice, to ask even the "stupid questions" at times.

I have also asked those silly questions that seem obvious after a while. And I definitely recommend your little store to others; selling fabrics is easy and anyone can do it, but helping customers and offering the very best—that is what your store is about. Always kind and with love, receiving a package feels like a birthday many times a month. Thank you for being here.
I also started from zero and initially didn't know anything, but you can learn everything, not give up, and try at least 10 times until you succeed. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

What helped you the most to believe in yourself and your business?

In my opinion, what helped me believe was that I know that VARU and I succeed. And of course, clients who return for years.
Over this time, I have realized that not all clients are lasting values, but there are those with whom truly warm friendships develop, and that is pleasing.

Her children help with daily chores, her husband supports her, and Undīne gives her clients not only beautiful things but also care, humanity, and love. Her words about how a client feels joy when opening a warmly wrapped package simply warm the heart.
